COVID-19 and Beyond

A story of love in very difficult times…

I am deeply saddened and shocked because these are human lives taken from their loved ones and family members just like that. It is indeed scary and heart rending. But even as we deal with these, the most important thing is that we learn all the Natural, Medical and Spiritual lessons we need to learn as fast as possible to avoid a second wave of this Covid-19, which will be more catastrophic.

Dear Friends, it is quite obvious that we are living in some very strange, unprecedented and difficult times because of this global pandemic from Coronavirus. As I write this article, many of our dear ones have died from Covid-19 and other illnesses. The UK alone has recorded well over 20,000 deaths from Covid-19 and yet this figure does not include those that have died in care homes. The same havoc is happening all over the world.

My prayer is that God Almighty will have mercy on us. We also need to pause and reset for moments of personal reflection, repentance and probable change of our life styles for the good.

We also need to tell ourselves the Holy Truth and learn some new things about this world from a different perspective. A coin has only two sides but there could be many sides to this ugly story. I would like us to explore all possible sides of the story from a totally different dimension.

The Law of Substitution

Come now and let us reason together saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow: though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1 verse 18. Wow what an audacious unmerited promise. God is saying “Give me all the sins, vanity, rubbish, and garbage in your life today and I will take care of them. Also give me all the sicknesses, trauma and bad ways of your life.” Who in his right mind will ever say, ‘no’ to that? He wants to clean up the mess and bin all the past. Personally, I must say that this is too wonderful for me.

“The thief (devil) comes to steal, kill and destroy but I have come to give you life and life more abundantly”. John 10 verse 10. So, the devil is the thief and the source of all our problems because we have made room for him through our sinful lifestyles. A thief steals that which does not belong to him and, because we are made in the image and likeness of God, we do not belong to him. He, the devil tries to steal our lives and joy because he hates God and his creation.

When we break UK laws, we face the judgement of the Crown Court for example. In the same way, when we break spiritual laws that are already set in motion by God, we open the door for the devil to unleash havoc in the lives of our loved ones and families. It is like the law of gravity and the only way to overcome it is to bring into motion another law to counteract it and this is the law of blotting out our sins by the blood of Jesus (Isa or Yeshua). I would like to call this the law of substitution.

Listen to this: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son (to die for our sins) so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish (die) but have eternal life.” John 3 verse 16. Just trying to say that God can keep you from dying at a young age, or even if you die young or old, your eternity is secured because you can live with him in Heaven. The Hell fire has been designated for the devil and all his followers not for you and me. You see, we humans do not really die but the flesh dies at death and rots away after burial or cremation. However, the spirit and soul transcend to the spirit level (will go back to God for Judgement).

All this goes to show you how good, loving and merciful the Almighty God is. He is ever ready and wanting to save us from eternal judgement by offering us Eternal life on a platter of Gold, free of charge.

Created in God’s Image

Oh yes indeed, God has a son. Let me explain this, we are created in God’s own image and after His likeness. So, we are essentially a spirit with a soul living in a body. That is three -in -one; but that does not make you three persons but one person, male or female. Moreover, If you are a Father, you must have been someone else’s son, a brother and a husband to your spouse. Again, this may reflect three identities, but you are essentially one person. This highlights the three roles you play just by being a father, so even though you have these three roles you are still, essentially, one person. As God has made us in his own image and likeness, we can use the example above to look at the relationship of Father, Son and The Holy Spirit. Each one is distinct from each other but each is needed to make up the one person of God. There is only one God but he can manifest himself to us in three personalities and this helps us to relate with him in Love without feeling rejected by God.

The point here is that the Almighty God was, and is, still willing to come down to our level to relate with us as a father, son, husband, and even as a brother so he can fill the voids in our hearts and lives. You would agree with me that some people do not presently have a father, son, brother or husband and wife. God can and does bridges these gaps, lacks or losses in our lives today. Amen.
